John Thompson (Grt Grt Grandfather)
John Thompson was born in Liverpool, Lancashire about 1822, his father was James Thompson and so far not been able to find the name of his mother. According to a number of censuses and his daughter Sarah's (from his second marriage) birth certificate, he was a Wood Turner by trade.
He was married twice, his first marriage was to Sarah ?? who was from Chester and died between 1861 and before July 1862 from unknown causes. His second marriage was to Jane Jones (my relation) on the 15th July 1862 at St Nicholas church in Liverpool.
From his first marriage they had a daughter called Elizabeth and she was born about 1860 in Liverpool. So far I have not been able to find any more children, but the 1861 census mentions that there were two children (Nurse Child) at the same address in which they were looking after and what is very strange daughter Elizabeth is not mentioned.
Unfortunately, I can not find any of the family in the 1891 census.
The 1901 census reveals that his wife Jane is now a widow and is living with their daughter Anne and family.
